What inner strength really means in coaching
Inner strength is often confused with assertiveness, discipline or control. In coaching, however, a different picture emerges: genuine inner strength does not come from having everything under control, but from staying in contact with ourselves — even when things become challenging.
Those who are inwardly stable do not have to suppress feelings or paper over uncertainties. Instead, an attitude emerges that leaves room for both: clarity and doubt, courage and vulnerability. This form of strength is based on self-awareness and self-confidence, not on perfection.
Coaching supports people in deepening this contact with themselves. It is about perceiving your own needs, values and boundaries more consciously and deriving decisions from them. In this way, orientation arises from within.
Control tries to eliminate unpredictability. Inner stability, on the other hand, makes it possible to deal with it. Those who know themselves and can trust themselves even in difficult moments need less control — and gain more composure, presence and capacity to act. Inner strength is therefore not a state you reach. It is an attitude that arises again and again: in conscious contact with yourself.
